Wow, what a week it’s been! I’ve been super busy with brand campaigns and got a really awesome new phone and colored my hair pink for the rest of October [in honor of breast cancer awareness] and am in the process of figuring out my Halloween costume… And reading. I’m always reading something.
This week it’s Starting A HFC Business At Home by Ian Leaf. I received it in exchange for a review here. 🙂
“It used to be the case that many fashion professionals had to first toil for years on end in mostly thankless roles before getting an opportunity to showcase their talents. This recent paradigm shift has fundamentally changed the nature of the path to success in the industry.”
It’s a short read [50 pages] but is packed full of the information you need to, as the title implies, start your own HFC [High Fashion Clothing] business from home.
Personally, I haven’t considered actually making much as far as clothing – maybe accessories one day – but it’s a great read for fashion/style bloggers too, as it does give you a better view of the business you’re working in and you can learn a thing or two.
Chapters:
1) Introduction
2) HFC – High Fashion Clothing
3) Funding Your Own Home Fashion Business
4) What HFC Fads To Bank On
5) How To Leaf Through The City’s Red Tape
6) Should The Government Tax Art And Fashion?
7) How To Avoid HFC Scams – A General Primer
8) Vivier Shoe Fraudsters – An Example
Like I said, lots of info, def worth the read. 😉 Get it here.
And now, on to the #gratitude portion of the post… [though I am grateful for the book as well]
